The Line Concept was founded in 2016 and is one of the first and leading design-and-build furniture design studios in Dubai. The Line Concept's team of over 100 include artisans from around the world. Each and every piece is produced under careful supervision by hand at The Line Concept's workshop in Dubai. The Line Concept was founded by Dana Almatrook and Newsha Dastaviz, who jointly lead the creative direction of the company. The Line Concept has been recognized in the industry by notable nominations and features in publications such as Architectural Digest, Identity Magazine, Financial Times, Harper's Bazaar Interiors, among others.
The Line Concept's philosophy is that a single line in a space can shape emotion, memory, and dialogue. Our work exists at the intersection of design and feeling, where form is atmospheric and materials are sensory. Merging eras, textures, and disciplines, our furniture designs are both sculptural and functional. We work with natural materials such as stones and antique metals, creating timeless yet reactive surfaces—materials that evolve with time and speak to permanence in an impermanent world. Each design is an invitation to pause, reflect, and feel - creating spatial experiences that resonate and designs that recollect.
The Line Concept periodically releases capsule collections. The capsule collections are presented based on meticulous and passionate research on a selected theme. Our recognized aesthetic combines materials, methods and time periods, always presenting intriguing new techniques and combinations that explore past and present, permanence and impermanence, precision and spontaneity.
As a furniture design studio, The Line Concept creates brand and interior identities through furniture. We can undertake projects where we explore design, materials and color but also functionality, purpose and allocation. We work hand-in-hand with interior architects, designers, or project managers. We produce unique pieces that are specific to the project.
We work on residential, commercial, hospitality and retail projects of any size. Notable projects which included our involvement include Dubai Opera, House of Wisdom, Emirates Airlines First Class Lounges, Burj Al Arab, Chanel, Equiti Global HQ, Mondia Media HQ, Mastercard at Expo, and Dior at Nammos, among others.
